Waiheke Island Construction and Contracting Ltd

Waiheke Island Construction and Contracting Ltd was established in 2018 by Paul Walden. Paul is a Licensed Builder and elected Waiheke Island Local Board Member and has been a Waiheke resident for the many years . The services we provide covers building site preparation, trenching, driveway forming, section clearing, topsoil and landfill removal, topsoil screening and landscape supplies, retaining wall construction, pile and foundation drilling, moving water tanks and buildings, re-sitting and re- piling buildings, Hiab, Tip and Canter plus Excavator hire.

We are able to provide a uniquely informed local Waihekean service to suit our clients’ needs.

Paul Walden

Paul is passionate about Waiheke,  a furniture maker and carpenter by trade, Paul is a licensed builder and contractor and has the experience of building and contracting on Waiheke for over twenty years.Paul and his wife Joanne have raised their five children on Waiheke, enjoy sailing and horse riding. Paul has been an elected community representative to the Waiheke Local Board for ten years

Mike Patton

We have the luck of the Irish to have multi skilled stalwart Mike Patton, (Mick for short) working for WICC ...! Mick is a qualified plumber and holds Class 2 and Class 4 Trucking licences. No job is too big for Mick and he gets any job done with a big smile , good humour and in record time.

Aaron Langman

Aaron is a second generation builder and grew up on building sites and he is very proud of his oldest son starting a building apprenticeship to follow in his father's footsteps. Aaron's skills has taken him all over New Zealand from the Chatham Islands to Queenstown, below the high tide in Kaikōura Earthquake recovery, to top of mountain ranges only accessible by helicopter. Working on Te Huruhi School brought Aaron to Waiheke and to us at WICC.

Louise Wolmarans

Louise is an ex South African and had a 13 year stopover in  Australia...she is now firmly a Waihekean in the making. She has a  Diploma in Clothing Design and one in Digital Media and Website Design and after working in various roles at Placies on Waiheke, now works alongside Paul as our Office Manager.

Joshua Mansfield

Originally from the UK, Josh came to New Zealand after completing his carpentry apprenticeship and becoming fully qualified in Carpentry He worked on new House builds and home renovations and has 4 years experience in first fix, second fix and structural carcassing.His last two years living in NZ has provided him with a plethora of knowledge, including the country’s history and culture, and he loves exploring and experiencing the vast diverse landscapes through hiking and mountain climbing. Josh is an avid reader and the kindest and friendliest addition to our WICC team.

David Walden

David is one of our third year Carpentry Apprentices and the son of Paul Walden, so he grew up learning plenty of skills from his Dad.He can operate or fix any of our diggers and machinery with skill and ease and is currently taking on more responsibility on Building sites. We see a very bright future ahead for this honest and skilful young man as future leader at WICC.

Nathanael Stone

Nate is the second of our third year Carpentry Apprentices and is a farm boy from Hamilton. Nate comes with a crazy amount of knowledge of trucks and machinery for someone so young. He has his  Class 4 Truck licence and is passionate about all things trucking and lifting in our Company. You will find Nate to be the friendliest and happiest person on site and he will literally go the extra mile for anyone.

Finlay Patton

Finn is our first year Carpentry Apprentice and is already showing wonderful leadership qualities and taking pride in all the work he does.Finn is becoming more and more proficient in our vehicles and in using our excavating machinery.He is also the son of Mike, that keeps a fatherly eye on his progress and we are all excited to see his commitment to having a long career ahead as a builder with WICC
